SYNOPSIS

Une joie secrète, a film by Jérôme Cassou with Nadia Vadori-Gauthier, a multiform performer, curator of Danser/Résister for Edizioni Textuel in 2018, stems from Une minute de danse par jour, a daily act of poetic resistance, inspired by shock in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at “Charlie Hebdo” in 2015. Every day the choreographer Nadia Vadori-Gauthier, filmed a minute of dance based on current events, terrorist attacks, strikes, protest marches, and even micro-events of daily life. The material collected in various places at various times in Paris over four years has become an immersive documentary, shot close-up with a hand-held camera by director Jérôme Cassou. Dance as a langue des corps is interspersed with testimonies by the choreographer and by the professional artists who express themselves on the great ethical, poetical, philosophical and anthropological questions of our time.
