After the terrorist attacks, the pedestal of the statue is being cleaned from the 1rst to the 11th of August by the city services. The Parisians used to leave flowers, candles and messages in tribute too the victims. The city archives and the Carnavalet Museum took pictures and collected the objets to preserve their memory.
