Vera Leigh was born in England in 1903. During the Second World War, while running a fashion house in Paris, she became a secret agent of the SOE Special Operation Executive.

Captured on October 30, 1943, she was shot on July 6, 1944 by Gestapo agents in Karlsruhe, Germany.
