A daily performance project by Nadia Vadori-Gauthier

Dance 2352 - 22 June 2021

7:23 p.m., Rue des Longues-Raies, Paris 13th. Some days I would almost be discouraged. I question the meaning of what I’m doing. I go out anyway, impossible not to make “the minute”. Rue des Longues-Raies, there is nobody, it’s perfect for today. This second day of summer is gray and humid. I radically apply my protocol: dancing with the weather of the day, not trying to “look good”, activate the real state of the body, deal with materials and circumstances: concrete, cold air, fatigue , the feeling of loneliness… I dance. I start again. I do it again. I am moving almost slowly. There is no more space on my memory card. I forgot to empty it. I stop and put my camera away. As I leave, a dark angel leans out of a window in this deserted street. He says: “Good luck eh…. That’s wonderful …. ». Surprised, I smile at him and answer« oh…. thank you…. ». He repeats: “yes, Magnificent”. As I walk away, these few words make me cry. I thank the arrangement of the circumstances. This “minute” continues to work.
