Dance 1401 - 14 November 2018

5:49 p.m., MNAAG, Paris 16th.  Dancing in the Historical Library of Guimet Museum, one minute before closure.

At the heart of the museum, the round walls of the ancient library have seen astonishing scenes : Buddhist monks and a famous spy dancing. In 1905, Émile Guimet invites a dutch dancer who surprises Paris by her oriental and erotic performances and her brahmanic dances. After her presence between those columns, a stage name was given to her, Mata Hari.
